About NEI3A

Promoting Healthy Lifestyles

Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging, or NEI3A, is a private, not-for-profit corporation serving individuals throughout 18 counties in Northeast Iowa.

What We Do

Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging coordinates services for individuals to help them maintain the independence they desire. Services we provide include option counseling, case management, meal programs, caregiver support, respite services, evidence base health programs, advocacy, and recreation and education programs. We serve the following counties in Iowa: Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Grundy, Hardin, Howard, Jackson, Marshall, Poweshiek, Tama, Winneshiek.

Two NEI3A programs have a nationwide scope. Both are funded by grants from the U.S. Administration for Community Living (ACL): the SMP National Resource Center and the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) National Technical Assistance Center. NEI3A’s national centers serve SMPs and SHIPs nationally as central sources of information, training and technical assistance. They also serve as a resource to members of the general public and also to 1-800-Medicare by providing online SMP and SHIP locators. Go to www.smpresource.org or www.shiptacenter.org for more information.
